Questions

Frequently asked

What is an EV health inspection?

An EV health inspection is a specialized check-up for electric vehicles. Instead of oil and engine compression, we focus on what matters in an EV: the high-voltage battery’s real state of health, the electric motor and drivetrain, brakes, tires, and vehicle software. You receive a written report in plain English with a clear assessment and recommendations.

How long does an inspection take?

Most inspections take 60 to 90 minutes. A standalone battery health report is usually done in about 45 minutes, while a full pre-purchase inspection with a road test can take up to 2 hours. You receive a clear written report once the inspection is complete.

Which EV brands do you inspect?

We inspect all major EV brands sold in the US, including Tesla, Rivian, Ford, Chevrolet, Hyundai, Kia, Nissan, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Audi, Polestar, and Lucid. We also inspect plug-in hybrids (PHEVs). If you have a less common model, contact us and we’ll confirm coverage.

How do you measure battery health?

We connect professional diagnostic equipment directly to the vehicle’s battery management system (BMS) and read the actual measured data: usable capacity, cell voltage balance, internal resistance, and thermal system performance. This is far more accurate than range estimates or phone apps, and we compare the results against the expected degradation curve for your specific make and model.
